I feel like we don’t go to Fujairah enough, just because the drive from Dubai is that bit longer, just under 2hrs but we will definitely be heading here again.
The Intercontinental hotel only opened in 2018. It is really modern and clean and is real contrast between the slightly shabby high rise of Le Meridian next door. (Not that there is anything wrong with the Le Meridian, it’s just an older hotel).
It is situated on the Al Aqah beachfront with amazing view of the Hajar Mountains.
We stayed in a deluxe ocean view suite, the room was really big and spacious and has a separate living area, (we love for the extra room for our son).
Our rate included breakfast which was in Nama restaurant, we opted for a la carte dinner and ate most nights in Drift seafood restaurant which was lovely, there is also a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor inside the hotel but Drift is right next to the beach with ocean views.
The hotel has 3 separate pools, including an infinity pool, there is also a small children’s pool which is shaded.
There is a spa, a gym and a kids club, it was a little disappointing that some of the kids activities in the kids club were at an extra charge.
One night there was a children’s cinema night outside on bean bags which was pretty cool (popcorn at an extra charge!)
Another thing I always rate a good hotel on is free water, it’s drives me mad having to pay crazy prices for water throughout the day. They have have free bottles of water you can help yourself to, which is a great touch, they also come round with fruit & ice
too.
My only recommendation for this hotel would be a small outdoor kids play park, there is plenty of space for one in the grounds.
We loved this hotel, it’s a highly recommend staycation for families or couples.
