So many people tell me they find it really hard to decide which island to go to when considering a trip to the Maldives and I totally agree, there are sooo many beautiful islands to choose from. So I thought I would share some of the main criteria that most people look for and most importantly those islands that have kids clubs! 😉
1. Flight Duration - Is it a direct flight or are there any connections to consider?
2. Transfer time - there are different ways to travel from the main airport to the islands, speedboat, sea plane, domestic flight & speedboat. Personally I prefer the speedboat option just because you’re not waiting around for another connection especially with small children. Also keep in mind some of the sea planes only operate at certain times of the day.
3. Is it a family friendly hotel?
4. Does it have a kids club and what are the age restrictions?
5. What room types are available? Do they have family rooms?
6. Do they have an all inclusive option? - The Maldives can be very expensive so it’s worth looking at all inclusive, it can be worth spending the extra when you think of all the extra juices and ice cream’s throughout the day..and the cocktails of course! 😉
